Cindy Chang

A native of Taiwan, Ms. Cindy Chang began her formal classical music training at the age of nine, playing both the bassoon and the piano. After graduating from Soochow University in Taiwan, Ms. Chang got a merit-based scholarship from the Peabody Conservatory and got her Master degree in May 2010. Ms. Chang continued pursuing her Doctoral degree at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a full-scholarship recipient and graduated in May 2015. Before studying abroad, Ms. Chang was an intern high school teacher, teaching the music appreciation class and serving on the administrative staff at the student service center. She has also taught private lessons for more than 10 years in piano, bassoon, as well as taking on the role of piano accompanist. Cindy believe her students have different personalities and strengths. The most important goal for her is to help students improve their unique talents and to achieve their maximum potential as a musician. She aims for all students to become skilled artists who can express their musical ideas properly and successfully, not only in playing but also in teaching.
