HISTORY OF PCSOM
Park Cities School of Music was founded by Eva Brandys under the name Music
at Your House, School of Music in September 2010. Originally, Mrs. Brandys
worked by herself, but within a year, her studio tripled in size. After
twelve months of working seven days a week with a load of 70 students,
she realized that she could not accept more students. Enrollment for Music
at Your House, however, continued to grow rapidly each month. In May 2011,
Eva decided to rent a small space in the Park Cities area and open a music
school where Park Cities School of Music was born.
Park Cities School of Music is dedicated to providing quality music instruction
to young people who want to learn to sing, play an instrument, or perform
in front of an audience. The school is also widely recognized as a training
center for serious music students. In an environment that honors achievement,
creativity, and personal growth, Park Cities School of Music nurtures
the aspirations of all students, regardless of their artistic ability
or economic circumstances, while inspiring a lifelong love of the arts.
Park Cities School of Music provides lessons in classical, jazz, pop and
rock styles of music. We offer weekly music instruction (in both group
and individual settings) at home and at our studio on most of these instruments:
piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, drums, and voice. This instruction
also applies to theory, composition, ensemble, choir and performance activities.
Each student is carefully matched to a member of the school's talented
and dedicated faculty in order to maximize the results of the weekly instruction.
In addition to weekly lessons, Park Cities School of Music offers a wide
range of early childhood music classes, including Baby Music & Me,
Little Mozart, and Little Singers. The School also provides music instruction
to adults of all ages and levels, and presents free public concerts and
recitals by students, faculty, and guest artists every year.
Park Cities School of Music is much more than an educational institution.
It is a community where students find an accepting and welcoming environment,
learn to work in harmony, and form close, lasting friendships. Today,
Park Cities School of Music serves Highland Park, University Park, Preston
Hollow, Lakewood, and Lake Highland families. Please come by and see us.
